  1.                         LID POSITION DETERMINATION

  4. One should record the position of the 
  5. lid margins with respect to the limbus.  
  6. This is often more important than actual 
  7. palpebral aperture measurement in 
  8. determining the lens type and diameter 
  9. to be used.
  10.  
  11. Estimate the coverage of the upper part 
  12. of the cornea by the upper lid in mm.  If 
  13. it covers some of the cornea, for 
  14. example 2 mm, then it should be recorded 
  15. as +2.  If the upper lid is above the upper 
  16. limbus, for example by 1 mm, than it 
  17. should be recorded as -1.

  19. Likewise if the lower lid covers 1 mm of 
  20. the lower cornea it would be recorded as +1.  If it is below the lower limbus by 2 mm, it would be recorded as -2.
